When did you realize you wanted to be a writer?

I swear I was born with a pen in my hand. In school, I loved to write essays and short stories, and it was always an epic moment, when the teacher chose mine to read it to the class. For graduation, my English teacher made us read 10 books on a special topic we could choose freely. Mine was vampires, and I found L. J. Smith’s Night World Series in a British Book Shop. I devoured them all, read every single book she wrote. And when there was none left, I decided to start writing my own vampire story. At the beginning, it was only for my personal pleasure, but the further I got, the more I wanted other people to read and enjoy what I wrote. It was in my mid-twenties, that I decided to make writing my profession. Passion to business, you know.

If you could date one character from your books, who would it be?

Ha ha, I’m married, I don’t date other guys. But if I was ten years younger and single, I’d want to date Ryan Hunter from my novella PLAY WITH ME. He’s just everything I love in a guy. Sweet, sexy, and a little dangerous.

Who of your heroes or heroines is like you the most?

Lucy. From the Archangel Saga. And I’ll leave it to your imaginantion why.

I have a really cool idea for a book. Can I send it to you and you write the story?

Nope, sorry. First of all, it’s illegal to copy anyone elses ideas on purpose, and then I have so many ideas for more books that I want to write in the future that I wouldn’t even have the time to write any other books.

What inspires you?

Many things inspire me. Music. Nice weather. Especially the sun. Also a good book or film.

I want to become a writer. What do I have to do?

The simple answer is: Make the choice to be a writer, and then write.

But if you want to be a good writer, you need some support which you will find in writer groups. Join a critique group and profit from the help they are willing to provide. Do workshops on the craft. Analyze the books you love. See how a good author structured it, how he handled the POV, find out what it’s particularly that pulled you into the story. And read, read, read…

Do you fall in love easily?

For me it doesn’t take much to fall in love. A book, a piano, and beautiful hands… I also love it when a man can dance.

Who is your favorite author?

I’m a devoted fan of Kerrelyn Sparks. The woman understands to combine hot romance with humor, the best mix if you ask me. I love the boneheaded heroes of Georgia Lyn Hunter’s Fallen Guardian Novels. Then there are Becca Fitzpatrick, Lisa Jane Smith, Stephenie Meyer and Sherelyn Kenyon. Their fantasic worlds of supernatural creatures have fascinated me from the first page. Teresa Medeiros writes lovely hystorical romance. And J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter is still one of my all time favorites. But there are many more authors I read and enjoy.

What is your favorite movie?

I have a soft spot for Disney. Alice in Wonderland is my all time favorite. Another film I can watch time and again is The Neverending Story. The mystery around Jason Bourne was brilliantly done, and then I love Star Wars, Sherlock Holmes, Lord of the Rings, and pretty much everything by Stephen Spielberg.

If you had one wish – anything – what would it be?

Anything? That means supernatural too, right? I would love to have the ability to switch into the bodies of the characters I read about and experience all their adventures physically.

You said you loved Disney. What Disney-character would you like to be and why?

That’s a good one, LOL. I’d like to be Alice, because it never gets boring in Wonderland.

Do you bring your own experiences into your books?

God, yes. I think every writer uses parts of his or her life for inspiration. But you would never notice when and where.

Tell us about one epic moment in your life.

This is hard, and I don’t want to single one out, because there were actually three absolute amazing moments I would like to tell you about.

Number one was the moment I realized the boy I was totally crazy about was crazy about me too. Two was the moment the nurse brought my baby son and I could hold him in my arms for the first time. And three was when I met my guardian angel in a meditation.

You write paranormal. Do you believe in all these things? Vampires, angels, witches…?

I do believe in magic. And the supernatural. I think this world would be an absolutely boring place if there wasn’t anything paranormal to think about and hunt for in a curious way. Although I don’t think there are vampires or werewolves around, I do believe in angels and the powers of certain people who think of themselves as witches.

What is the one question you always hope someone would ask, but no one did yet?

Nina Dobrev quit acting. They’re looking for a new Elaina Gilbert for The Vampire Diaries. Are you interested?
